THE PERFORMANCE PLACE :: Class Participation Dress Code & Requirements

BALLET:

Girls: Pink tights, pink ballet slippers, and class-appropriate color leotard
Boys: Black tights or jazz pants, white socks, white t-shirt, white or black ballet shoes

Pre-Ballet I & II - Ballet pink leotard with attached skirt, pink tights and slippers
Ballet I & II - Sky blue leotard with attached skirt, pink tights and slippers
Ballet III - Burgundy leotard (any sleeveless style), pink tights and slippers
Ballet IV & V - Black leotard (any sleeveless style), pink tights and slippers
(any color leotard may be worn on Saturdays)

• No jewelry or watches. Small pierced earrings are permitted
• No dark nail polish
• Leg warmers and wrap sweaters may be worn at the discretion of the instructor
• Hair for all ballet classes must be secured in a bun at the back of the head. No bangs. Short hair should be held back with a wide soft head band. This is necessary to enable the instructor to observe total body alignment and to protect against the development of incorrect habits.
• Shoes must fit properly (no growing room), as improper fit ballet shoes cause students to distort proper foot positions and may cause injury
• No shiny tights or leotards and no contrast trims

TAP:

Girls: Black leotard, black tap/jazz pants, black tap shoes (steel taps are preferred)
Boys: Black or white t-shirt, black jazz pants or sweats pants, black tap shoes

HIP HOP / JAZZ / LYRICAL:

• Comfortable clothing
• No bare midriffs please
• No street shoes. You must have shoes that are dedicated to studio use only.

As a convenience to our families, leotards, tights, and ballet slippers will be available for purchase at The Performance Place. Fittings and ordering will take place at scheduled times, when possible during scheduled classes, and by appointment. Please do not ask Miss Kristine to fit your child at the beginning of class.
